Eve is totally undone with Candi’s performance earlier today. I mean, “Who does she think she is barging up in here disrespecting my house! I hate her and everything she represents. I can’t believe that Mike actually married her. What the hell does she have that I don’t have? My ass is bigger than hers and she dresses like a white girl. She wears all those plain Jane hair styles, and she ain’t got an ounce of rhythm. How is Mike going to be with a square like that?

You could see ChiStepper's Sexiest Stepper of 2008 in the making right here. Monique was probably a little heart breaker, but as sweet as she is today, I'm sure she did it nicely, like "I would be your girlfriend, buuuuuttttt if my mom found out I'd be grounded for two years." At 5 years old though, even that was a leap ... she wasn't thinking about nothing but Barbie and Ken dolls ... 'cause if I see come little knuckle head boy trying to talk to my 4 year old daughter I'm giving him a wedgy!

Mike and Red discuss Steppers set business and Red seemed a little unhappy about the amount of money he stood to take home from the contest winnings. Although the contest was and always has been fixed so that Red would win, he still thought that he was getting the short end of the stick.

During this time of unprecedented changes, The Majestic Gents have also made a few distinctive changes within their organization. First off, they have a new sweetheart, who would be none other than yours truly, the lovely Ms. Crystal. Other changes are new locations for their parties, a new date for the annual Memorial Day Weekend Convention, now called the Spring Jam, happening at the end of May in Atlanta and many more changes are promised by Mr.

A True Steppers Connection: Moved To "The Dolton Banquet Center"

As many of you might have heard, The House of Lynwood Foreclosed and a True Steppers Connection was scheduled to have a party there on May 30th. Monique Salter reached out to let me know that the group has moved their awesome Steppers party to The Dolton Banquet Center, located at 142nd and Chicago Rd (2 blocks from Club D'Elegance).
From what I hear, The House of Lynwood didn't even give the group the heads up. If that's true, shame on them. Big ups to Cynthia Bean for circulating the initial story.
Official "Opening Night" Party

Last year the ChiStepper / Dre and Company party was off the chain, as this year it's going to be even better. We've tapped Sister 2 Sister magazine as the official media partner again, and Jamie Foster Brown will be the host. The "Opening Night Gala" is part of the 2009 World's Largest Weekend and Pete Frazier is MCing the event. The very next night The Majestic Gents will host the 19th Annual World's Largest Steppers Contest, with the first Master's Category in 9 years.

ChiStepper Incorporated is proud to announce its brother site, DanceFetish.com. If you like social networking platforms like Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, and Twitter, you’ll love DanceFetish. On this new site you can create a profile with your contact information, invite friends, upload photo albums, upload your Youtube videos, and a whole lot more (described in more detail below). Some of those who participated in the advance screening of the site asked if DanceFetish.com was going to replace ChiStepper.com, and the answer to that question is ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Darrell Davis (Just Us) / Lady Margaret B-Day Review

I got straight off the plane Sunday and started getting ready for Just Us' party at The Dorchester this past Sunday. Darrell Davis celebrated his birthday sporting a lime green suit and both Rochella and Andre greeted guests as they worked the room. Darrell was so proud and happy that his mother came out to celebrate with him, and she is just as sweet beautiful as she wants to be. Mellow Khris worked the 1's and 2's and the music was great as always. The crowd was slightly older but the energy was still fresh.

Is there any wonder that this itty bitty version of Cynthia Bean has her finger in the air, like she's saying, "Wait a minute, a got something to say." And for those of you who have been to a party that she's hosted and/or heard her radio report, you know she's going to say her piece.
Now Cynthia is a Stepper as well, so she might have been telling her mother to drop that Whispers record, "1 more time" while she does her thang in the chair. lol!

United Ladies of Step: Bling it On

The state of Ohio is definitely making a name for itself in terms of throwing broad based Steppers sets. The United Ladies of Step from Toledo took center stage this weekend at the VFW Post. Club members Sheronda, Sharon, Keesha and Viva provided all of the ladies who entered the “Denim and Diamonds” party with “Bling Rings” to stay in line with the theme.

No D'Elegance Contest For Tee Tee

Tee Tee initially reported to ChiStepper.com that she would host this year's Club D'Elegance Contest. She has since reached out to let us know that she will no longer be involved with the contest. It seems as if Club D'Elegance dragged their feet a little too long for her to feel comfortable with the promotion. ChiStepper will keep you all updated should any new developments come our way.

I generally don't write about going to clubs anymore. After all, I generally see the same people that we always see when we're out. On Sunday night however, we all such a good time that it would be a disservice to you all not to share it with you. The first person I bumped into was Lady Margaret, who told me that she had been promoting the Sunday night set since November. Who knew? She was all smiles as she talked about the steadily increasing crowd.

Khris told me that you all wouldn't be able to guess him and he was right. The guesses ranged from Royce, Raphael, Darrell Davis, Haywood, Sam Chatman and Pete Frazier. Not a single person guessed the Nation's most popular Steppers DJ.

Steppin' continues its foray into mainstream media, as Andre Blackwell (Dre and Company) and Lady Margaret Fisher are featured in the June '09 issue of Ebony magazine. This dynamic duo electrified audiences in past years with their high energy competition style. Word has it that Lady Margaret will be back in competition in 2009, while the jury is still out on Dre.
Old vs. New Skool: Simply Red vs. Angie Stone

The new skool is on a roll, as Common's "The Light" beat up on Bobby Caldwell's "Open Your Eyes." This week, Simply Red will take on Angie Stone's classic remake of his track "Holding Back The Years." Although I have a million of these match ups myself, I blend in the suggestions of the readers as well. This match up is another from Babydoll. Who will take it?
