![]() It has always be rumored that great Skaters make great Steppers. A number of awesome Skaters have suggested in the past that their rhythm, balance, timing, and ability to shuffle their feet is borrowed from years of big-wheeling around the floor. ChiStepper has compiled a list of Steppers Who Skate Vol. 1 ... you be the judge. Check 'em out ... Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites Comments (3)

I started back sk8in in 1995 but when I begain to step I would see all my skate friends at the parties. When I look at tapes of Steppin at Club 7 I see then too. Sometime forget when I steppin I will do a skating move and on the otherside I do a skating move when I step. So for me skating and steppin are one and the same.

Wow! I agree with Mr. Drizzy. I'm from Detroit, and the reason that's significant is because the style of skating is like NO Other. And if there is some place that skates the way we do, it's because people from Detroit have moved there. And there's so many skaters in the Detroit area that are now dancers (not just steppin as Detroit covers them all) it's unreal. Skaters got me started. :-) And like Drizzy I used to skate all over, known for popping my fingers really loud, and that hasn't changed. I still do it when I'm dancing. And when I go to any major event, I take my skates with me.

man you haven't even hit the tip of the iceberg on how many skaters is now steppin. I been skating since i was a kid, in 2001 a friend said "man i am goin to take you to Chicago with me to a National Skate Party" i went and been hooked skating on the national scence since. I learn some footwork from Detroit skaters, learn to JB skate from numberous JB skaters. Traveled from coast to coast learning different city styles of skating. Plus what i learned from my Columbus Ohio skaters put that together and created my own style. So when i decided to learn to step the basic came easy to me. The footwork easy, slowing down my dance well that is a work in progress, i love the uptempo songs. Here in Columbus i would say there is at least 20 of us skaters that has learned to step and i am still recruiting heah heah.
