 Ebony Magazine showed the Steppin' community major love in their February 2012 Black Love issue, as they feature a 6-page spread from the World's Largest Steppers Contest. A number of Steppers (Dave Maxx, Rhonda Freeman, Westside Mike Bush, Tosha Downey and Mark Alexander, Easy Alcorn, Erica Jones, Sebrina White, Drew Alexander, Keesha Anderson, Kevin "Doc" Dockery, and Tamika Clark, Craig Fields, Pete Frazier and Pretty Ricky) are featured in the piece, and Ebony does a far better job of capturing the spirit of the dance than Vibe did nearly 10 years prior. This marks the 2nd time Ebony has dedicated ink to Chicago Steppin, with Andre Blackwell and Lady Margaret being the first Steppers ever featured in Ebony. The value of a page in Ebony magazine is north of $20K, so it's quite a statement that they dedicated 6 pages to this story. Way to go Steppers. Big ups to Ebony! Continue on to check out the spread!
